V a r i e t y
It has been said that variety is the spice of life, but when it comes to visual communication, it is the daily bread! Variety is what keeps compositions interesting.
After doing some searching, I came across these images. I thought they were compelling because they also had a fair amount of variety. They're not busy per se, but there is enough to keep your eye wandering!
This image by Janine Rewel has variety through means of different shapes and colors dispersed around the picture plane.
In this image, the black and white pattern formed by the tuxedos contrasted with the white, blank space formed by the woman's ball gown shows variety
Raul Allen's image here has variety by means of negative space and textures and planes. The large shapes of the woman in the foreground contrast with the smaller items in the background.
