U n i t y

If variety is what keeps compositions interesting, unity is like the glue that holds them together. Much like the Force in Star Wars. ;)

The poster on the left shows unity through the composition. Your eye moves from the top right corner to the bottom left. The composition is also made up of the same swirly pattern. All the colors are very warm, even the cool colors have warmth to them.

        The illustration on the right shows unity through use of line. There is this repeating pattern of hatch marks on the woman's jacken and on the background behind her. There is a repetition of green squares and blue blotches.

 The image on the right shows unity in many ways. The eye follows the cubes as they radiate out from the light towards the center of the picture plane. The little green squares everywhere bring everything together. The use of pinks and purples, very analagous, keeps things unified too.
